In fact, models like this 1951 Willys Jeepster Convertible were essentially leftover 1950 models sold as ’51s. This one reportedly has less than 4,000 miles on a complete restoration completed nearly 20 years ago. It has been enjoyed by a single owner since 2008, according to the selling dealer, who is representing the vehicle on consignment and says it “runs and drives like new.” FEATURES This Jeepster is powered by the “Lightning” 161-cu.in. L-head inline-six, rated at 75 horsepower.The engine is said to start easily, with a manual choke, and run very quietly.A three-speed manual transmission with overdrive is matched with the engine.There are no known powertrain leaks, according to the seller.Wearing Nassau Cream on the exterior, the paintwork is said to be of “show quality.”No blemishes in the finish are cited.A previous California vehicle, the seller also asserts there’s "no rust" in the body.The convertible top was replaced during the restoration.The seller describes it in "excellent" condition.The top includes side curtains and a zippered rear window.Like the exterior, the interior was restored, and the upholstery and carpet are in very good shape.There are no reported holes, rips, or excessive wear in the seat covers or carpet.All the gauges and other interior features are believed to work normally.Lap-type seat belts have been added.The chassis, suspension, and braking systems were rebuilt and restored with no reported issues.“It steers very nicely and is an easy-driving vehicle,” notes the seller.BFGoodrich whitewall radial tires are mounted on stock steel wheels with hub caps.The seller notes the tires appear in good condition, without cracks, but are at least 15 years old.
