The âPâ in the data plate indicates that this 1956 Thunderbird was originally equipped with a the 225-horsepower version of Fordâs new-for-â56 312-cubic-inch Y-block V-8. The engine is mated to a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. That powertrain combo is still intact. Neither the engine nor the transmission has been rebuilt, because they still work fine! The original points and condenser were replaced with an electronic ignition. The transmission was recently serviced including band adjustment, so it is said to shift smoothly. the interior is in excellent condition with no tears or cracks. The carpet has no wear spots. The original Town and Country radio was replaced with a more modern stereo in the stock location. Still available at ListedBuy!
