> I purchased this Isetta in 1990 and at the time was aware the engine was not original to the car. Five years ago, I started restoring the car and completely disassembled it. I had the body media blasted so that it was is still free of rust, except for a few small holes on the original battery box. Upon completion of painting the body (with the original color birch green), I started working on the frame restoration; I then discovered that the chassis number located on the passenger side is not stamped on the frame. > Since I already invested time and money in the restoration and purchase of replacement parts, I decided to continue the restoration project with the knowledge that the non-matching numbers may impact the value of the car. After much time and energy spent on the restoration. I recently completed restoring the Isetta and it is now for sale. The car is mechanically sound, everything in working condition and ready to drive.>> Work done: >> Brakes rebuilt >> Engine with rebuilt head carburetor and new pistons rings. The engine runs good and has 100 lbs compression.>> Chain drive rebuilt>> New shocks >> Interior restored using green leather and proper cardboard Panels with German carpet. >> New rubber and felt all around>> All chrome re-plated>> New electric wiring system>> 4 new tires
