The car is a very rare transition vehicle, one of 30 that made thetransition from 1963 to 1964. It is a 1963 with features about tobe brought out with the 1964 model. It is turquoise with an allturquoise interior, not matched with fawn like a 1963. It's one ofthe last ones with round headlights, the battery is a 3EEE, thehood brace is on the driver side. All characteristics of a 1963. Itis equipped with air conditioning, an am/fm radio w/ rear speaker,electric windows, posi-traction, electric w/s washer, tintedwindows and a sun band windshield, all documented with 2 buildsheets.The Avanti was cared for its entire life, has never beenapart, doesn't squeak or squawk and goes down the road straight andsmooth with cold A/C even in Florida summers. It has the originalCarter carburetor and glass fuel filter. It was retrofitted with adual master cylinder and the exhaust system was replaced withoriginal style glass packs in place of the "silent mufflers "mandatory for a Avanti sold in California. The frame and "hogtroughs" are perfect. No rust issues anywhere on the car. Theexterior paint could benefit from a respray.The original R1 engineis equipped with the original Carter carburetor , has 10.25pistons, solid lifter camshaft, a dual point distributor. The frontbrakes are discs, the first American car equipped with them.This isan extraordinary car, except for the old respray and seats/carpetsit is in original not molested or modified condition. It runs anddrives fantastically. It's time for me to pass it on as I'm retiredand wish to travel.
