In excellent condition, this 220SEb retains a wealth oforiginal parts, including the engine and transmission, and standsout as a superb driver, ready for its next enthusiast owner.Please view our photos and YouTube video for the most in-depthanalysis of this exceptional W111. Exterior Color and Paint: Originally optioned in a two-tone colorway, thecar features a bright red body and a black roof. The car has beenrepainted in its original red, with the roof now sporting aprofessionally installed black vinyl covering. Condition: The body is straight with minimal blemishes. There aresome minor chips and scuffs, and a crease in the front body panelwhere the bumper appears to have dented it. The front bumper has afew scuffs, but overall, the paint shows beautifully. Trim and Glass: The glass, chrome, trim, hardware, and emblems areall in excellent condition. The panel fitment is consistent, andall doors, hood, and trunk close nicely. The factory 13-inch wheelshave newer tires, and the trim rings and center caps are in greatshape. Lights: The headlights and bezels show nicely and functionproperly. Interior Seats and Upholstery: The front and rear seats have been restuffedand recovered, presenting in top condition. The seat frame chromeis excellent, and the seats move freely. The car is equipped withseatbelts. Dashboard and Controls: The dash and gauges show nicely andfunction properly. All switches are functional. The upper trim onthe driver's side dash is peeled, and the headliner has some stainsbut is taught and complete. A brand new headliner is included forinstallation if desired. Carpets and Panels: The new carpets and plush Mercedes floor matscomplement the interior. The door panels are in excellentcondition, and the windows roll smoothly. The interior is clean anddry, with door jambs in excellent condition. Trunk: The trunk is dry and complete with the full spare and alltrim pieces. The floor pans in both the car and trunk aresolid. Underhood Engine and Transmission: The engine bay is largely original,housing the factory-correct M127 2.2L Inline 6 with BoschMechanical Fuel Injection. This appears to be the original engineand transmission. The engine runs smoothly, fires easily on coldstarts, holds a smooth idle, and revs nicely. The car ismechanically sound and well cared for. Condition: The underhood area presents well, with no significantissues noted. Underbody Condition: The underside is in good shape for its age, with solidfloor pans and rockers. The suspension is complete and in goodcondition, though some rubber bushings show mild cracking. Therehas been a prior repair in the front wheel well on the front bumperpanel, which is common for the W111. The rear section of theexhaust has been replaced with stainless steel. Leaks: There is some oil residue around the transmission pan gasketand oil drain plug, but no active leaks. Driving Experience Performance: The car drives exceptionally well, with smooth gearshifts and responsive acceleration. The suspension is tight, freefrom road noises, and the car tracks straight. The brake pedal isfirm, offering confident stopping power. Functionality: The horn, signals, lights, and wipers all functionproperly. The radio is currently non-functional.
