Founder Carroll Shelby introduced an all-new big block version ofthe race-winning small block Shelby Cobra in January 1965,significantly enhancing its performance. The mighty 427 ShelbyCobra boasted numerous upgrades, including a computer-designedindependent suspension, a stronger frame, voluptuous bodywork, anda powerful engine. It surpassed the 289 roadster in every aspect ofspeed and capability. In 1996, Shelby American revived the production of big block ShelbyCobras, and one standout example is CSX4319. Completed in 2005,this aluminum-bodied CSX4000 series roadster was expertly craftedby Shelby specialists at McCluskey Ltd. Adorned in anniversaryblue, it features polished quick jacks, a roll bar, and ShelbyCobra badges on the nose and trunk. CSX4319 showcases impressive features such as resonant ceramiccoated side pipes, 15" Halibrand-style knock-off wheels with AVONTires, Wilwood disc brakes, and coil covers. Powering this beast isa 462 C.I.D. Kroyer racing engine built with genuine Shelby parts,along with a TWM throttle body fuel injection system and Moteccontroller. The big block Ford V8 engine delivers power through aDavid Kee aluminum top loader transmission to an OEM-style alloydifferential unit housing 3:31 gears. The suspension was upgradedwith AP front and rear brake calipers, as well as period-correctvented rotors for SC 427 spec cars. The wood-rimmed steering wheel complements the Smith and Lucasgauges. As a 'Semi-Competition' model, it forgoes thestreetcar-inspired glove box. CSX4319 even includes the optionaltonneau cover. Shelby Cobra CSX4319 has only 997 miles on the odometer, is titledas a 1965 in California, and is currently available for purchase at$349,950.
