Description:

1967 GMC C15 Short Bed Flareside Pickup "Flaresides/stepsides will have a narrower bed, but it's also aperfect rectangle. They also don't have the humps associated withthe wheels. The bed's right angles led to some of the more iconicstyles of the '50s, like wood slatted bed floors. Because no moderntrucks have this look, it does emphasize the classic style of anolder truck, and you'll probably get lots of positive comments. Thedramatic fender flares also tend to attract praise." Thxtocjponyparts.com For consignment, a 1967 GMC C15 Flareside short bed pickup that'sbeen restored and is clean on the inside and out. You don't see toomany trucks of this era with ivory paint and that makes thisvehicle a standout. Fresh oil, a newer battery and tune, and somebrake work make this a turnkey show truck. ExteriorSimilar to the Capri Cream offered in 1967, this Ivory paintprovides of glimpse of what a new truck may have looked like in1967, before it was enlisted to do the work of handymen, farmers, mechanics, and others who, after long, wouldn't be concerned withhaving a pristine truck, as long as it got the job done! Accentedin brown, the step of the flare side, the tailgate, and on thewheels offers a unique paint configuration while the entire frontis covered in chrome from the bumper to the grille and the bezelsof the GMC double headlights. It's all in very nice condition, thepaint, the chrome, and the polished metal on the truck. The bedshows equally as nice with perfectly glazed oak planks separated byflawless aluminum rails and sidewalls that haven't seen a bale ofhay in a long time. The 15-inch steel wheels have deep polishedrings and polished hubs that look great and LED now illuminated thetaillights. Imperfections are limited to a scuff on the frontfascia on a top corner and a small surface scratch and paint chipnear the door seam at the bottom. InteriorCream and brown are brought onto the door panels with clean linesand very nice paint and the window frames and gaskets areexcellent. The brown bench is dressed in a textured brown velourwith tan sides and in great shape while cream and brown dominatethe dashboard with a brown plastic gauge cluster and brown paintedglove box, each the same shape. The thin spoked brown steeringwheel and column shifter look fresh and the center GMC cap retainsjust a pinch of patina. A vintage looking AM/FM radio is in thecenter over vent controls and it's all presented in fantasticallyclean condition. A fitted black rubberized mat covers the floor, speakers are molded into the footwell walls, and the headliner isglossy ivory paint with contrasting brown visors. DrivetrainWe expected zero dirt and our expectations were met when we openedthe hood to reveal the 250ci inline 6 cylinder engine with a1-barrel carburetor and rated at 155 horsepower. Its gleaming redblock contrasts with the mirror-like finish on the valve cover andblack wires. A 3-speed manual transmission sends power to the rearaxle which is a Dana 44 unit. The front and back are housing drumbrakes. UndercarriageNo shocker here, the underside is show quality clean. Outside ofsome surface rust on nuts and bolts, you could eat off the surfacesunderneath, from the painted frame and components, the bottom sideof the wood, to the drivetrain itself. Suspension is comprised ofcoil springs up front and leaf springs in the rear while the singleexhaust flows into a stock style muffler then proceeds to exit theundercarriage under the left step. Drive-AbilityIt's like we're driving it off the assembly line with not even dustlanding on the dash yet. The engine runs well, provides adequatepower with a pleasant rumble, braking works, and so do the fewgauges provided in the truck. Our streak is broken however when wediscover the brake and taillights are not functioning. WhileClassic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working atthe time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functionswill be working at the time of your purchase. Here's one we would have no problem parking in our living room.Yes, that's right, in the house! If you appreciate detailing andwant to maintain a spectacularly clean truck, start with this one.Dust it off between car shows and drives and you'll be good to go.The face of the early GMC trucks set it apart from the moreubiquitous Chevy's and that's another reason to love this truck. Iwasn't hired to be a fortune teller but my crystal ball has been ona roll lately and I'll say this one is not likely to last long atthe mall. Done reading? Make the call!
