Mercedes-Benz embarked on a new single-platform policy for itssports cars with the new 2.3L 230SL, which was internallydesignated "W113" and debuted in Geneva in 1963. Briefly produced fromNovember/December 1966 to January 1968, the 250SL is the rarest ofMercedes-Benz's W113 series with 5,196 built.
