This re-creation of a 1968 Shelby GT350 was built for and donatedto the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program at Northeast TexasCommunity College by Barry Smith, owner of Legendary GTContinuation Cars in Roaring Springs, PA. This Continuation-seriesShelby GT350 is built from the original 1960s-era Mustang, withfactory VIN and original title. The car was stripped to bare metalfor transformation into the Shelby GT350 model; built in the samespirit as those that won the FIA Sports Car World Championship in1965 and dominated racing in the period. The body is finished inWimbledon White and has all-new fiberglass and steel panels,including reinforced shock towers and Shelby-specific parts. Theengine is a 302 Ford small-block with a 4-speed Toploader manualtransmission. The parts used to complete the driveline/unibodyinclude (but are not limited to) the differential, brake system,all suspension parts, gas tank, fuel system parts, cooling systemand wiring harness, and are either New Old Stock, refurbishedoriginals or remanufactured.
