With only NINE 1970Challenr "RT" HEMI convertibles ever produced ( 5 four speeds / 4automatics) the 1970 Challenger "RT" Hemi convertibles is one ofthe most desired muscle cars in the world to own! This is a real1970 Dodge Challenger convertible that has been restored as aTribute to one of the original four speed challenger RT Hemiconvertible's that were produced. This Challenger was restored atIndy Auto Body by the owner Nick Panaritis and his crew. Nick hadamassed an impressive collection of serious cars - including anoriginal Hemi Cuda. But the one machine that Nick always wanted isone of the toughest to acquire- a 1970 Hemi Challenger RTconvertible! with only nine such cars having built, the odds ofrunning across one are pretty darned slim. Realizing that Nickbegan gathering challenger parts years ago for the ultimate clonecar project. After 20 years of looking at rust bucket projectconvertibles Nick finally found a genuine survivor convertiblestill wearing its original dark brown paint and brown interior.Small rust holes behind the wheel wells were the only cancer foundanywhere on the Challenger. The car was immediately gutted andstripped to bear metal and put on a rotisserie! The only metal workwas lower patch panels on the car. Nick put an original Hemi "K"member in the car and atop positioned a 1966 casting Hemi block.The heads and intake with dual 4V carburetors are 1970 vintagepieces, fitted with correct 1970 valve covers and air cleaner. Theheads have hardened valve seats to live on modern unleaded gas. Theend result was a stunning color combination of Platinum silverexterior with red interior and the car was named "Quick Silver"!There is a thick photo album with photos of the restoration frombeginning to end that will be included with the car. The magazinethat Quick Silver was featured in is included with the car as well.This vehicle is being offered today at a fraction of what it wouldcost to commission the restoration.
