This striking 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 was restored to highshow-quality standards using mostly NOS parts and is original withmatching-numbers throughout. This is one of only 3,100 Oldsmobile442 W-30 models produced in 1970. This authentic example was judgedat the highest level by the Oldsmobile Club of America three times,scoring 995, 996 and 998. It was awarded First Place and Best ofClass at the OCA Nationals. It was also awarded Best in Class atthe Louisville Concours D'Elegance and Gold Concours Winner at theMuscle Car and Corvette Nationals. All the awards are documentedwith judging sheets or the event magazines. As the original VIN Tagand Trim Tag indicate, this car was built on the third week of Junein Lansing, MI, and left the factory with a Sherwood Green exteriorand a green interior. As the three original Broadcast Sheets (whichare included) indicate, the actual build date was June 17, and itwas equipped with the W-30 option. From the information gathered,the car was ordered with the following options: Sport mirrors,tinted glass, hood-lock package, SSII wheels, Sport steering wheel,interior light package (including trunk light), stereo AM/FM radio,8-track, rear defogger, dual-gate with console, interior floor matsfront and rear, 455 W-30 Ram Air package, OW automatictransmission, heavy-duty cooling system, power steering and powerdisc brakes. This vehicle was purchased on June 13, 1997, by RobertTraina of Crown Point, IN. This information is documented with acopy of a title, which is included. This car was found in Oregonwith 50,000 miles. Traina collaborated with his son Robert Jr. toperform a complete body-off restoration. Their vison was to buildthe most authentic Oldsmobile 442 W-30 possible. They spent thenext 7 years searching for NOS parts and meticulously restoring thecar using a 1970 factory assembly manual. Over 200 photos of theNOS parts used and the entire restoration process are included.Upon completion of restoration in 2004, they drove the car a totalof 460 miles. It was purchased on November 26, 2005, by DennisSullivan, of Lebanon, OH. This information is documented with aneBay listing, Bill of Sale, official check and title, which are allincluded. Sullivan spent the next 5 years showing the car atvarious events, where it achieved many prestigious awards. Theexterior of this car is absolutely spectacular. It retains alloriginal GM sheet metal and the body is extremely straight withprecise gap lines. It was refinished in its original color ofSherwood Green, which is decorated with white stripes. The highshow-quality paint was recently detailed to brilliant appearance.Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced with NOS parts.The car sits on NOS 14-inch gray steel wheels with G70-14 GoodyearPolyglas white-letter tires. The interior of this car complementsthe exterior perfectly. All of the green upholstery is original,with exception of the front bucket seats, which were recovered withoriginal Green Madrid grain vinyl. Everything in the interior wasrestored or replaced with NOS parts. The trunk compartment wasaccurately restored and includes an original factory spare. Theengine compartment is highly detailed throughout with mostly NOSparts. It's powered by the original matching-numbers 455 V8 enginewith original F-heads. The engine was completely rebuilt with NOSparts, including a 308 camshaft. The engine breathes through a NOSdual-exhaust system. The engine is coupled to the originalmatching-numbers OW automatic transmission, which was completelyrebuilt. The power is transferred to the 12-bolt rear end with W-27cover and NOS 3.91 gears. The undercarriage is also highly detailedthroughout with many NOS parts. This car was recently serviced anddetailed, which is documented with an invoice that's included.
