*** View Only. Vehicle Not For Sale out of Collection! *** Wantingto compete with brand rival Pontiac and their newly introduced GTO,in 1964 Oldsmobile introduced the 442 option for the Cutlass. Thename was derived from the car being equipped with a 4-barrelcarburetor, 4-speed transmission and dual exhaust. Although inlater years the car would be offered with an automatic transmissionoption, it retained its status as the top-of-the-line performancemodel. As the muscle car wars began to heat up, Oldsmobile made the442 a stand-alone model instead of just an option package to focuson increasing the performance of the car even more. By 1970, theyhad reached the pinnacle, offering a standard 455 V8 engine ratedat 365hp with a host of go-fast options available. This particular442 is a three-owner car the most recent owner acquiring it in1975. The car was cherished by the family and eventually retiredfrom daily driving duties. At that point, a complete nut-and-boltrestoration was commissioned to restore the car to exact factoryspecifications. It was refinished in the original shade of AstroBlue Metallic, a correct blue convertible top was installed andmatching blue interior complete with bucket seats wasreupholstered. During the restoration process, the body was takenoff the frame and down to bare metal, the original matching-numbersengine and transmission were rebuilt, and every detail wasaddressed. Once the highest-quality restoration was completed, itwon First Place at the 2011 Oldsmobile Club of America Nationalsand took Best in Class at the 2012 Oldsmobile Club PacificRegionals. From the factory, the car came well-equipped withoptions like air conditioning, performance 3:23 posi-traction axle,power disc brakes, automatic transmission, deluxe steering wheeland more, all documented on two original Build Sheets.Additionally, the car comes with a binder of restoration photos,receipts, original Protect-O-Plate and various other paperwork f
