1991 Alfa Romeo Spider VeloceDriven 69155 milesPurchased in 1998with 46711 miles from original owners (father and then son). NORUST; always garaged. Well documented maintenance items through theyears. Repainted 2003 in original color; paint is in excellentcondition. Original canvas top still in good condition. Interiorand dash are in good condition other than a tear in leather seatpiping on driver side from getting into and out of car. Windshieldreplaced 2001 as there was a bullseye in front of driver view fromprevious owners. Original front and rear suspension still in goodcondition. Transmission rebuilt and clutch replaced 2004 at mileage60471. Driveshaft center bearing and U joints have been replaced.Both fuel pumps have been replaced and the gas tank removed toclean out rust (common Alfa problem). Center and rear mufflers havebeen replaced. Valve clearances have been checked and shimsadjusted. A/C compressor failed in 2004 and was replaced; A/C worksbut has a small R12 leak. New evaporator and R12 cans come with carbut recommend converting to R134a long term. Installed winddeflector which is great on reducing wind buffeting. Under previousowners the engine oil pan guard/front tow hooks would hit theground on a bump; this resulted in the tow hooks being bentslightly (still usable). To solve problem front springs and panshims were replaced to raise front end. New front tow hooks werepurchased and will come with car but require bumper removal andwelding. Retrofitted the older style rearview mirror with lightwhich is better than the dash pad lights. Installed the new designclutch pivot arm as a precaution since we had one fail on our 1985Graduate. Replaced radio. Just replaced passenger side mirror withnew, both doors limit straps, both door speakers (rears are ok butnew ones come with car), power antenna, battery, oil and filter,and air filter.
