Inspired by the oversized, military-grade Hummer H1, GM developedthe somewhat more human-size Hummer H2 based on a mix of itsstandard- and heavy-duty pickup truck chassis parts. The H2 wasbuilt for GM under contract by the Hummer's original builder, AMGeneral, from 2002-2009. A four-door pickup with a small bed,called the SUT ("Sport Utility Truck"), followed in 2005. Thesewere highly capable and luxurious machines powered by V8s from GM'sengine family. The full-time four-wheel drive system used lockingcenter and rear differentials and push-button-selected low range,and the Hummer H2 also had electronic traction control.This 2007Hummer H2 SUT appears to be in good overall condition while showingjust 53,876 miles on its odometer at the time of submission. Theselling dealer reports no service needs for this truck. The H2 hada small bed that was wider than it was long (34.7 in. long x 47.3in. wide x 20 in. deep). A "Midgate" like that in the period'sChevrolet Avalanche pickup functioned like the tailgate on stationwagon. A power window lowered into the bulkhead, which then foldeddown. This then provided a 73-in. load floor, with about half ofthat inside the vehicle. The Hummer SUT weighed 6,800 pounds andwas rated to tow 6,700-pounds.
