The highly utilitarian panel models, like this restored and modified rear-wheel-drive 1966 Chevy C10 Panel Truck, owe their limited survival rate to their utility—they tended to be used hard and put away wet by employees that probably weren't greatly concerned about company trucks. This half-ton C10 Panel has a 7.5-foot cargo area, as opposed to the C10 one-ton models that had 10.5-foot holds. POWERTRAIN The engine is a Chevrolet 350-cu.in. OHV V8 crate motor of unspecified horsepower that the seller says was installed in 2016, along with a GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The provided photos show an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke, and finned aluminum valve covers. The seller reports that the engine starts right up when cold with no issues and no observed leaks. He adds that the transmission shifts well through all gears. The truck has an open-element air cleaner and dual exhausts, per the seller. EXTERIOR The truck has no rust issues on either the body or the frame, according to the seller, who notes some mild surface rust on older suspension components. The truck was painted blue in 2016 and the seller rates the quality as "good," with a few mild scratches around the door handles that are shown in the photos. He adds that the glass is in good condition with no seal leaks. All the lights work. INTERIOR The interior was updated in 2016 when the truck was restored, according to the seller, who says the later model bucket seats (with power adjustments on the driver’s side) are in “great” condition. The shocks, bushings, and brakes are all in good working condition, according to the seller, who adds that the suspension was checked and serviced in 2023. The front brakes are power discs. The rolling stock consists of Chevy five-lug pickup Rally wheels and trim rings with Bowtie center caps wrapped in P225/70R15 Mastercraft rubber of unspecified age.
