I say VERY RARE as they only built 27,443 Super Sport Convertibles in 1965! We just purchased this Impala Super Sport from the previous older Washington State owners and as you can tell it was their pride and joy for sure! This Impala still retains it's correctly mounted - FACTORY ORIGINAL.t the heart of this RARE BEAUTY is the VERY STRONG - GROUND POUNDING - Code "IV" - "BIG BLOCK" 396 CID "Turbo-Jet" V8 (325 Horsepower from the factory) motor that is running VERY well indeed. The motor also sports an Edelbrock Performance Aluminum 4 barrel intake manifold, ORIGINAL STYLE exhaust manifolds, Chrome valve covers, MSD Ignition, Chrome "396 Turbo-Jet" scripted air cleaner housing and an Edelbrock Performance 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke. Sounds GREAT too with the THROATY true dual exhaust system with dual chrome tips. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - THM-400 Three speed - "Turbo Hydra-Matic" - automatic transmission that also functions well. The BEAUTIFUL !! - Dark Blue Cloth Super Sport Impala bucket seat interior is in VERY NICE condition including NICE Dark Blue Cloth front bucket seats, VERY NICE Black carpeting, VERY NICE Matching Dark Blue Cloth door panels, NICE ORIGINAL Impala steering wheel, VERY NICE Dark Blue Cloth sun visors, NICE ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, VERY NICE Dark Blue Cloth rear seat and a NICE ORIGINAL Super Sport center console !! The Nearly NEW Ivory White Vinyl power convertible top with correct glass rear window is in NICE condition and also comes with a VERY NICE Black Vinyl convertible top boot cover. All of the black rubber weatherstripping is soft, supple in GREAT condition! There are not many of these BEAUTIES left on the roads for sure! The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. Check out the AWESOME - FACTORY ORIGINAL - Stainless Steel Super Sport wheel covers with "SS" spinner center caps wrapped in BRAND NEW whitewall steel belted radial tires, they look OUTSTANDING on this Impala really retains that CLEAN "Factory Original" look! All of the ORIGINAL exterior body trim and moldings are in VERY NICE condition including VERY NICE ORIGINAL "Super Sport 396" badging, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Chrome front rear bumpers, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Grill Headlight surrounds. The CLEAN trunk sports a VERY NICE Dark Blue Cloth and Black Carpet liner. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses reflectors are clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL!
