This 250 GT is 1 of 4 lightweight Berlinettas (the others 0369 GT,0385 GT and 0393 GT), two of which have been totally destroyed.Built on a 250 GT Europa chassis, this 250 GT Lightweight has beennoted in several well-known Ferrari books as thepredecessor-prototype to the 250 Tour de France. The following information has been obtained by TomPapadopoulos-Autosport Designs, Inc. with the unparalled help ofnoted Ferrari historian Marcel Massini and is thus included withthe sale of 0383 GT. Original Ferrari factory build sheets, Original Certificate ofOrigin dated Dec. 9, 1954 (Automobile Club of Italy) and completeownership history from new. Period Race History:• Documented as being entered for the May 30, 1955, XXII MilleMiglia, entered by Behra;• Sept. 17-21, 1956, Raced at the VI Tour de France by Paolo Lena�(pictured page 163 of Maurice Louche's book "EmotionFerrari-Europe 1947-1972", page 105 of Maurice Louche's book "LeTour de France Automobile 1899-1986", page 19 of Jess G. Purret'sbook "Ferrari 250 GT Competition" and page 159 of Antoine Prunet'sbook "Ferrari Legend-The Road Cars.")• Oct. 1956, Raced at the X Coppa Inter-Europa, Monza, Italy byPaolo Lena;• Nov. 4, 1956, Raced at the 1st annual Coppa San Marino hillclimbby Paolo Lena;• March 1957, Imported from Italy to USA by Luigi ChinettiMotors;• Sept. 14, 1958, Raced at Bridgehampton, NY by Frank Adams;• Sept. 20, 1958, Raced at Watkins Glen, NY by Frank Adams;• 1958, Raced at Lime Rock, CT by Frank Adams. More recently while in the previous ownership of several notedFerrari collectors, 0383 GT has enjoyed entrance in the MilleMiglia Retrospective on several occasions, the Copperstate RoadRally and no less than "nine" Moneterey Historic race meetings. Ithas also graced the lawns of several prestigious Concoursthroughout the United States. This 250 GT #0383 GT has been restored several years ago withlimited use since. Recently serviced throughout, it is ready forimmediate use and enjoyment.
