Description:
Gorgeous 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix. This vehicle was purchased from the Horton Classic Car museum collection at Mecum. I completely went through the car after purchase. Compression test revealed 185 psi on every cylinder. Put in a new fuel tank, sending unit, hei distributor, plugs and plug wires, alternator, radiator. New QA1 adjustable rear shocks, new KYB shocks up front. Rebuilt the Roush Holley carburetor. When I purchased the car it was advertised as an original 389 car which I have all PHS documentation including original window sticker to verify. Mecum said there was a current 421 but after going through all paperwork and casting numbers I learned that it has a 1968 428 4 bolt main. The previous owner took the vehicle to Roush and had the motor built. The Holley carb had an RR stamp and after contacting Holley they advised me they use to build carbs for Roush to their specs. This is an extremely solid car, paint is a 9 interior is a 9-9.5. All gauges work including factory center console Pontiac tach. All lights work. There is a 4l60e transmission installed and shifts smoothly. The rear end is a Pontiac 9.3 with posi and 3.90 gears. I have the black steel wheels that you see on the front of the binder with tires and the original bias ply fronts. It has a new set of Cragars on the rear with brand new bf Goodrich radials. New m/t tires and cragars on the front. I’ve owned quite a few 60/70’s era cars and this one by far has been the best driver. Fires right up, drives and handles great. No dissapointments. I have a video I can send. I have all documentation from 1962 until my time of purchase. Previous owners kept a diary and the current mileage, based on documentation appears to be original. Originally owned by Detroit tigers pitcher Mickey Lolich.
