With itss tunning, rare coachwork and Sedanca sliding roof, it was featuredin Lawrence Dalton?s Rolls-Royce: The Classic Elegance. JamesYoung's design cues included their signature sculpted door handlesand fitted body spears that followed the car's lines dovetailingfrom the front fender to the rear quarters. The coachbuilder wasacquired by the reputable Rolls-Royce and Bentley London dealer,Jack Barclay, Ltd., but continued as before, to produce theirdistinctive car bodies for another thirty years, until the bespokecar coachbuilding era concluded. Delivered new to venerable LondonRolls-Royce agents Jack Barclay, this Sedanca was so visuallystunning, the agent used it as a demonstrator model, until it wassold to first private owner, Jack Taubman. Presented in adistinctive two-tone livery, black, crested in rich burgundy,enhanced alongside with elaborate rare canework, a glance into theinterior does not disappoint. Unique and tasteful bespoke interiorfittings, rare period-correct and charming roller shades serve assun visors for both front and rear passengers. The spacious rearpassenger compartment has been refreshed in an elegant andunderstated parchment off-white leather with dark red welting.Other delights include distinctive twin picnic trays and amagnificent liquor cabinet "companion" complete with crystaldecanters and drinks tumblers, all fitted into the division windowcabinetry.
