The glossy military-like green paint highlightsthe beefy lines on the industrial-strength style. In fact, weappreciate the time they took to get some nice details right. Theribbed doors are true Jeep pickup, the steel bed floor is a featurethat made the original Willys pickups extra useful, the roll barlooks like it was borrowed from a Scrambler, and the squared-offfenders are such a part of the icon that you'll find them on newWranglers and Gladiators today. So while much of this may be acustom creation, it still instantly shows you it's a tough-as-nailsJeep. Plus, since this is a more modern build, they upgraded youwith cool features, like crystal clear headlights, LED light bars,and a beefy front bumper with a 12,000-lbs winch. And the propertrailer hitch on the rear reminds you that a dually was made forhauling. The interior was updated to add comfort to take this well beyondworking class. The set of bucket seats is nicer than anything thatWillys offered. They have a supple look, terrific bolstering, andgreen piping to coordinate with the dash and exterior. And the tanis also used on the door panels, shift boot, and headliner for avery uniform style. There's more added comfort for features liketinted windows and cold-blowing air conditioning. And the driver'sseat is a nice command position with a wood-rimmed steering wheel,a tilt column, and a full set of Dolphin gauges. While this is meant to be a cool custom you can show off, it'sreally still ready to go to work thanks to an upgrade in the enginecompartment. This classic heavy-duty machine is now running aMitsubishi 3.3-liter turbo diesel. These motors have been a popularand reliable industrial friend for decades. That means you've gotgood parts availability and plenty of torque for towing. And thefive-speed manual transmission is especially handy to get the mostpower that you want.
