This custom build was not some amateur backyard'stuff-a-V8-into-an-old-MG' shade tree project. The bodywork wascarefully modified to accommodate the new engine, headers, heavierdrivetrain and wider wheels, but done so subtly that the car stilllooks stock. It has a Rover (Buick) aluminum V8 that has beenprofessionally blueprinted and uprated for increased power from itsnow-308 cubic inches. The car has a T5 5-speed transmission with appropriate ratios forsearing acceleration and comfortable cruising on the highway, plusthe clutch, driveshaft and limited-slip diff have all been upgradedwith heavier-duty components than the stock MG had. It has high-back (heated!) Leather-covered bucket seats andmatching leather was used to trim the rest of the custom interior.Unlike many conversions, the seating comfort, gear lever positionand overall feel is conducive to comfortable driving-and it evenhas a quality convertible top plus a nice fiberglass hardtop comeswith it! Custom-fabricated and ceramic-coated headers breathe throughFlowmaster silencers and down the dual pipes with aterrific-sounding rumble. The car really scoots, and to complimentall the added horsepower, cross-drilled oversized four-pistonWilwood disc brakes were added front & rear behind the 16"Panasport wheels. The car is well-known, having passed through BAT in the past, plusit was featured in the British V8 publication in this link:http://www.britishv8.org/MG/kenbiermann.htm The present owner has had his fun and is moving on to new projects,so the MGB hot rod is available for the next guy smart enough tonot build one himself-this car is all done and available at afraction of what it would cost to duplicate it.
