This 1967 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, or GTV for short, waspurchased by the seller in 2022, as a fully restored example froman owner in Italy. The Alfa is identified as a European marketmodel that was first registered in Rome, Italy. The seller was toldit had been placed in storage from 1989 until 2020, when amechanical and cosmetic refurbishment was started. The work, whichwas finished in January 2022, was said to have included rebuildingthe engine and transmission, repainting the body, reupholsteringthe cabin, and overhauling the suspension, braking, and wiringsystems.The seller states that the five-digit odometer was resetduring the restoration and now shows just over 1,600 kilometers(about 1,000 miles), approximately 200 of which have been added bythe seller. The car's total mileage is unknown. Recent service workincluded changing the oil, replacing the headlights, and adjustingthe windshield wiper arm, the seller reports. He says he is sellingthe Alfa because he is too busy to drive it.Introduced as the AlfaRomeo Giulia Sprint GT with a 1.3-liter engine in 1963, this coupe,designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro working for Bertone, earned the "V"(for veloce, or fast) letter in 1965 with the addition of the1.6-liter DOHC engine. (The 1.3-liter version continued as the GTJunior.) Special lightweight GTA versions competed in motorsportswith great success, including winning the first SCCA Trans Amseries n 1966.
