Porsche launched the 912 in 1965 as an alternative to the morerobust 6-cylinder 911. By offering the same body style with asmaller 4-cylinder engine, the 912 was marketed as a moreaccessible entry-level offering from Stuttgart. While having lesspower than the 911, the 912 carried less weight and remained awell-balanced automobile with excellent road manners. An original California-delivery example, this 912 stayed in thecare of its original San Rafael owner for the majority of its life.It was then purchased by a German collector, when it was exportedand kept as part of a private collection. Ultimately, this charmingpiece of Porsche history was then returned to the U.S. with itscare entrusted to Autosport Designs. This 912 is in wonderfully honest preserved condition. Sporting itsoriginal and highly desirable livery of Bahama Yellow over BlackLeatherette, this Porsche offers zero disappointments and includesbooks, tools, jack, spare wheel and detailed ownership records. Itis ready for immediate enjoyment and eligible for numerous vintagerallies and Porsche events. This 912 is one of the most honest no-nonsense structural andmechanical examples with an interior that has only the slightesthonest patina we have ever had the pleasure of owning. Having saidthat, over the years, this 912 had received various road nicks andtouch ups. Therefore, we decided to strip and repaint the entirecar. This 912 has excellent provenance from new, superb mechanical,structure and interior condition and most recently, freshlyrestored exterior in its factory original Bahama Yellow paint. This912 will be as comfortable on the concours lawn as it is on theroad. This is one of those Porsche we've decided to bring to thenext level and thus give a new lease on life in its next ownership.You will be hard pressed to find another 912 in this condition andin rare color of Bahama Yellow.
