1970 BUICK GS 455 Stage 1 One of 2,465 Stage 1 hard tops producedin 1970. Underwent a meticulous body off-frame rotisserierestoration in 2019. Has a built date code 455 cu in Rivieraengine. Non #'s matching. Correct 3-spd auto trans. This car is inthe GS Registry. It appears to still retain its original metal.Time was taken to make the body laser straight and all the bodygaps fit precisely. The paint was laid out evenly and the clearcoat is polished like glass. This paint is 5 years old now and itlooks like it was done yesterday. We did not find any cracks,bubbles, or shrinkage. The jambs are just as slick, even up by thehinges. The white "PAINTED" top looks great against the red. All ofthe brightwork was restored. The chrome was replated, stainless wasstraightened and polished. The glass is crystal clear all around(front is new). The power windows work effortlessly and areperfectly aligned. All the weather strips and window seals werereplaced. The car is equipped with, Power steering, power brakes (4wheel disc), power windows, and working AC. It comes with a new RedTop Optima battery, stainless steel brake lines, new EngineeredCooling Products Aluminum Radiator. INTERIOR: The inside wascompletely gutted to a shell. It was Dynamatted under the carpet.The dash was completely disassembled and restored. The gauges weresent out and restored, chrome plastic trim was replaced. The knobs,vents, modern radio with Kicker speakers, and glovebox liner areall like new. It has factory gauges and a tachometer with auxiliarygauges under the dash (temp, voltage, oil pressure) also a 3-spokesteering wheel on a tilt column. New upholstery on the seats anddoor panels. Headliner and visors were replaced. Everything fromthe carpet to the headliner was replaced, it all fits and functionsproperly too. Riding on mint condition GS mags, wrapped in raisedwhite letter Cooper Cobra radial tires, 295/50 R15 on front and245/60 R15 on back. UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame andflipped on a rotisserie. The chassis was stripped down bare,prepped, and powder coated. Every part of the suspension andsteering was rebuilt. The brake system was completely restored. Newlines, hoses, e-brake assembly. The fuel system was completelyreplaced- tank, straps, sending unit, and lines. It has a newreproduction exhaust system. Looking up at the engine it isspotless. The trans and all its related parts are spotless. Thebottom of the car is restored to look factory-new. What is a Stage1? It was Buicks top performance package and included the followingover and above the GS 455: Larger valves with heavier springs,re-jetted carb, recurved distributor, high lift cam, upgradedoiling system, high volume fuel pump, HD cooling, and a posi. Thea/c cars came with 3.42 gears. The odometer shows 26,279. Only 1680miles on restoration. This Restored GS is a stunner, it will fit inany decerning collection, and if collecting isn't your bag thenthis is the beauty you want to impress your friends and tear up thepavement.
