Starting with a clean 318 V8 GranCoupe, the car was completely disassembled down to the unibody. Allthe original sheetmetal remains intact, but it was put on arotisserie and stripped to bare metal, then refinished in itsoriginal Blue Fire Metallic (B5 Blue) exterior paint. An extragallon comes with the car to assure a perfect match should the needarise. The 440 engine is a runner. Edelbrock aluminum heads, aHolley 850cfm carb on an Edelbrock Torker 2 intake, a COMPhydraulic roller cam, and TTI ceramic coated headers combine for acalculated 541 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque, sent through anA833 4-speed manual transmission to the Sure Grip rear. The entireexhaust system aft of the headers is stainless steel polished to ahigh luster. An imposing appearance comes courtesy of a Shaker hoodand black Hockey Stick stripes proudly proclaiming the presence ofroyalty beneath the iconic scoop. Sparkling Cragar S/S mags, 15x7and 15x8, give off a perfect period correct vibe.Other nice detailsinclude the original fender mounted turn signals, color keyed dualracing mirrors, and 'Cuda badging. The theme continues inside. Openthe smooth-operating doors to be greeted by black vinyl bucketswith the Pistol Grip in between, a wood rim steering wheel, theoriginal AM/FM radio, and a dash-mounted tach. Almost as impressiveas the car itself is the included binder documenting the build andservice work. It is categorized and includes receipts andinstructions from well known manufacturers and vendors. There arealso photos to chronicle the process of refurbishing the car to itscurrent high level. This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda excels inperformance and appearance.
