Summary:
Used 1972 Buick Skylark
Location:
Lutz, FL
Description:

This 1972 Buick Skylark GSX Tribute is pretty darn attractivebecause it mixes serious big block power with serious rarity. Butbecause this is also a premium Buick, it makes sure it lives up tothose standards with an interior that has the best features, including A/C. It makes for a sleek drop-top classic that leavesyou wanting for nothing. The badging says GS, but we all know what this one is made to be -an ultra-hot GSX. Saturn Yellow was only one of two colors for theGSX, and it was the true signature one because it has the kind ofradiance to attract the attention this muscle car commands. So it'sgreat to see this quality application of this bold color. More thanjust the paint, it really nails the full GSX style. The dual scoopsin the hood, Buick Rallye wheels, full-width rear spoiler, and widedual exhaust integrated into the bumper all make for the rightmuscle car flair. The full stripe package looks awesome with thedual racing stripes on the hood, and it was pure power car art withthe sharply-pointed side stripes that wrap around the rear and overthe spoiler. And it's all outlined with a sporty red pinstripe forthat premium/performance mix that it seems only a Buick couldprovide. More than just an attractive package, the whole car is alesson in rarity. There were only about 850 GS convertibles produced in 1972, and theGSX upgrade can easily get you well into six-figure rarity. So agreat-looking tribute is the way to go, right? Except even thosewill be hard to find. When it comes to Skylarks, the Custom line(which is how this one came from the factory) was stillexpensive/exclusive with about 3,600 convertibles made. So you'reeven looking at a tantalizing rarity at a time when GM was theundisputed world's largest automaker. The black roof is new, and so it looks terrific against all theglossy black stripes of the exterior. And because this is a greatcolor combo, there's also a full black interior underneath. There'seven a well-fitting convertible boot for when this is down. So theway the inside and outside colors are so nicely coordinated givesthis Skylark a cool seamless appearance with the top up or down. This all has a clean look with intricate details, right down to theperforated upholstery. Power windows and a power convertible topare an awesome duo usually reserved for luxury drop-tops to make iteasy to open them up to the world. And you'll happily do that evenin the summer thanks to cold-blowing air conditioning. There's evenan upgraded retro-style radio and upgraded speakers for the best indriving music. And this is really about being a driver's machine. That's why you have front bucket seats with a center console andHurst shifter in-between. The sports steering wheel is on a tiltcolumn to give you a clear view of the full gauges. Looking for thetach? It's on the hood for a true classic head-up display. Under the hood is the bright red block of Buick's mighty 455cubic-inch V8. This upgraded motor has some great vintageperformance pieces like the Stage 1 intake that allows this tobreathe in fresh air from the hood scoops. These are joined byupgrades like the Holley four-barrel carburetor, an MSD ignition,an aluminum radiator, and headers feeding the dual exhaust. It'sbuilt to be a powerful and confident car. So you take full controlof the big V8 with a Muncie four-speed manual transmissionfeaturing a McLeod twin-disc clutch. The suspension also featurespower brakes, front discs, boxed rear arms, thick sway bars, powersteering, and wide BF Goodrich T/As. The sale comes complete with a packet that includes servicemanuals. This GS 455 Stage 1 tribute convertible has the rarity, features, and big power you want, and so you know you can't missthis deal. Call today!!!
