Who can forget that wonderful "Spanich" rrrroll of the tongue byactor Rrricardo Montalban and his infamous Chrysler Cordobacommercials! And now for consignment that famous car made famous bythe famous actor and his use of the words "Corinthian Leather". Ourfirst Cordoba! to grace our "pasillos sagrados". This car also hasjust 11,750 original miles and it shows! Exterior1977 brought us the large midsize car meant to save on gas yetstill provide comfort for the family to be transported in comfort.So they came up with the Cordoba with its leading edge roundheadlights and smaller round running turn signal lights flankingthe larger headlight. A central chrome encased vertical ribbedgrille in V form is in on, and a nice corresponding bumper below.Formal Black Sunfire Metallic, (and it has fairly large flakes),adorns this car with a few faults, but overall nicety has beenretained. Shiny trimmings for the wheel wells and rockers and a tanvinyl "landau top" complete with opera window in on the rear thirdof the roof. A trunk with room for all the luggage and then some isunder the large long rear deck. On either side are rectangletaillights and below a shiny chrome bumper to cradle the taillightsand frame the bottom of the trunk. Polished 15-inch Chrysler roadwheels are on all 4 corners and wrapped in 215/75-R15's allaround. InteriorWait for it.....Wait for it....Corrrrrinthian Leather, (swoon and afaint to the couch!), wrapped in light gold Corinthian Leather andvinyl adorn the interior surfaces of this classic. Front high backbuttoned and tufted buckets sit in front of the original dash setupand a similar buttoned and tufted rear bench is stretching acrossthe back from cathedral window to cathedral window. 1977 adornmentslike an 8-track player, cruise control, power windows, and powerlocks. All this in a sea of gold carpeting, and a smooth one pieceheadliner also in gold. Certainly, all that glitters it is.! Hayoro en ellos colinas!! DrivetrainLooking it just drove off the showroom floor this all clean andbuttoned up 400ci V8 with its single 4-barrel carb atop and A727Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission on back, and a 9.75 inch3.21 gear rear axle is ripe for the picking. Very nicely detailedand preserved. "In a word...seemply beeeeuteeful! UndercarriageSome surface rust on the usual suspects like the suspension anddriveshaft, but otherwise looking just great. Torsion barsuspension for the front, and leaf springs for the rear along withpower disc brakes on front and power drums for the back and a nicesolid exhaust, take the wheel and drive to the coast Ricardo! Drive-AbilityA quick starter and inside was luxurious in the tufted and buttonedCorinthian Leather..I just love saying that..CorinthianLeather...but i digress to the test track where she lumbered aroundturns with that cushy 1977 ride, nice smooth acceleration, and biasfree panic stopping. I noticed the fuel gauge does not work, thespeedometer is slightly noisy, and while the wiper motor works, thearms do not move.
