For sale is an Ultra rare 1980 Mercedes Benz 450SLC 5.0! This is a factory homologation production car used to homologate the car for WRC to go rally racing. This is the first car to go racing from the factory since Mercedes pulled out of racing after the horrific crash in Le Mans in 1955. This is a very historic car. Actual race factory race cars sell for around 1M. A production version like this one just sold for over $100k. It is powered by a prototype all aluminum 5.0 engine mated to an automatic transmission. It is interesting to note that these were never made with a manual including the race cars. Search 450SLC 5.0 race car on You Tube for some awesome videos of these cars racing. This is a very special car that many do not know about but collectors are searching for. Only around 1600 built worldwide and one of 40 sent to the US. Very few survive today.
