This is a 1981 Mercedes Benz diesel with a 4-speed manual transmission. I have owned this car for about a year, using it as my daily driver for a 150 mile (round trip) commute. This car has never let me down, but I don't need it any longer, so it's for sale.If you are not familiar with this model of Mercedes Benz, this is not something you go barreling down the interstate at 70 MPH in. Yes, it will go 70 MPH, but you won't be getting 30+ MPG either. This car should be driven below 65 MPH. I average 32.5 MPG (combined) driving it this way.This car has the OM616 Mercedes engine. These engines typically last for 500,000 miles if taken care of. This one seems very solid. I just changed the oil with Shell Rotella T and replaced both fuel filters.In the past year, I have done the following to the car:Adjusted the valves less than 1,000 miles ago.Brand new heavy duty battery.New clutch master cylinder.New clutch hydraulic line.New clutch slave cylinder.Flushed clutch hydraulic system, added fresh fluid, and bled the system.One new headlamp.New wiper blades.Details239,142 miles.W123 Body, OM616 Engine with 4-speed manual transmission.Has factory air conditioning but this does not work. I have never looked into why not.Fog lights.Comes with the original owners manual.Sony AM/FM/CD with AUX input.This car has a power sunroof, but it's not currently working. You can open and close it partially using the manual crank, but then it binds. The sunroof does not leak.Front tires are excellent but the two rear ones should be replaced. Tires for this are cheap.If you are familiar with these cars, then you know what it is. This is not a family car but would be ideal for a (non-interstate) commute. The passenger side seat belt is not anchored, so do not carry a passenger unless you fix this. It's not perfect by any means, but is probably better than what you would expect for this model and year.Price is $1,800.00 cash only. No, I do not want to trade for anything.
