The 924S was a limited production with only 980 unitsproduced worldwide and approximately 500 for the North Americanmarket. All NA cars were delivered in Black with maroon carpet andgrey/maroon cotton seats and door panels, along with crank windows,and manual mirrors for weight savings. These cars were furtherequipped with suspension upgrades, subtle body enhancements and the1988 high-compression engines rated at 160hp. All 924S's headedstate-side also received power steering, Blaupunkt radio and AC. In1988 the standard 924S had a base price of $19,995, the specialedition added approx $6000 to the sticker price. Today, most ofthese cars have disappeared into collections or wrecking yards,with very few examples currently available. The car has been paint meteredand is certified all original. The body on the car is laserstraight, and does not have even a single door ding, or scratch!This car has just been through our detail department for a full cutand buff- the paint looks great and has held up very well. It isclear this car has been garaged and well-cared for. All of themoldings and trim look excellent and the car retains all of itsoriginal Sekurit glass. This Porsche is riding on OE 15" "phonedial" wheels. They were recently refinished and are sporting a setof Uniroyal Sport Radials. The SE interior is in excellentcondition. The color combination specific to the special edition isvery indicative of 80's styling with rich maroon carpet and lightcotton-cloth seats. The seats are in good condition with verylittle ware of any kind. Per the previous owner, the seats wererecovered due to age deterioration and all efforts were made tokeep it as OE as possible. Correct replacement fabric was sourcedfrom Germany. Everything works in the car...lights, gauges, radio,seats, windows, locks, a/c blows ice cold, etc. The original dashhas suffered some cracks and is adorned with a black dash cap. Theoriginal factory Blaupunkt stereo sounds great for nearly 30 yearsold! A set of correct maroon mats compliments this rare interior.Mechanically, this Porsche is in great condition and boasts theservice records to back it up. This car sports the upgraded 160HP4-cyl that really makes this 924S scoot thanks to the power andweight reduction! The car has a very strong 5-Speed transmissionthat shifts perfect. The car has just been serviced via our shop byour Master Technician who worked at the Porsche dealer when thesewere new!
