The example on offer is one of only 1,555 units produced by GeneralMotors to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Trans Am, and tosubsequently serve as the official pace car for the 73rdIndianapolis 500. This very limited production automobile isequipped with the only two options available, t-tops and leatherinterior. Factory fitted with the following: WS6 Level IIIperformance suspension with Delco gas-charged shocks, tuned coilsprings, a fixed-ratio 12.7:1 ratio steering box, 1LE four-wheeldisc brakes, vented Repco 12" rotors in the front paired withheavy-duty PBR aluminum twin-piston calipers, and a set of 11.7"rotors with Corvette-spec PBR calipers in the rear. Further, itutilizes a standard-issue GTA rear axle with 3.27:1 gearing andPositraction. A revised torque arm arrangement locates the rearaxle. It has been upgraded with a sport-tuned ECU chip with theoriginal to accompany the sale. It was produced with gold-centered 16x8" diamond-spoke aluminumwheels with Z-rated (150+ MPH approved) Goodyear Eagle ZR50245/50ZR16 "Gatorback" radials. This example has been upgraded with17" replica gold diamond spoke wheels and 275/40-17" tires, withoriginals to accompany the automobile. This Trans AM has been locally collector owned and shows as-newthroughout. Included are its original t-top shade inserts, owner'smanual, books, compact spare wheel, jack, lug wrench and t-topstorage bag. A rare find in today's market, this represents awonderful opportunity to own an iconic piece of Americanmotorsports history that is turnkey and ready for immediateenjoyment.
