This 964 Porsche, which was originally manufactured in Rubystone or"Sternrueben," was delivered to Germany without a sunroof. It hasbeen meticulously maintained and modified by reputable Porschespecialists since its purchase. One such specialist is AndreasDahms, a Porsche Rally Race Driver and owner of a Porsche specialtyshop in Germany. Dahms enhanced the car by installing a 3.8L engineusing various RS and Cup parts. The car is estimated to producebetween 290-310hp, and we will be dyno testing it in the upcomingweeks to confirm this. Additionally, the car features a 993 RSshort ratio 6-speed gearbox, a 993 RS LWFW, and LSD. A Numericshifter has been installed, and other rare components include afactory 993 RSR manual steering rack, external gearbox oil cooler,additional oil coolers in front fenders, and a bespoke exhaust. Theinterior has been designed to emulate the RS model, with thinnercarpets, new Recaro Pole Position seats, Schroth 4-point streetharnesses, and factory seat belts. The car was purchased in Germany and imported to the U.S. in June2021 by a knowledgeable Porsche collector. He upgraded thesuspension and brakes, installing new MCS 2-way coilovers, Tarretcontrol arms, Torrington bearings, and other suspension components.The brakes were also upgraded to 993 Turbo Big Reds, with the frontbrakes being Ruf brakes (essentially the same as the 993 Turbofactory brakes). The car features new rotors and steel brake lines,and the cost of the suspension and brake upgrades alone total over$30k. The owner also fitted new 18" RH Speedlines to the car. Othermaintenance performed during his ownership includes a recentrebuild of the gearbox by Second Gear Performance in StroudsburgPA. All work on the car has been carried out by either PaulSchwartz, an air-cooled expert who was a mechanic on severalPorsche Cup teams, or Eric Magnussen, a top Porsche tech andexcellent racer. The car weighs approximately 2,700 pounds, including a few itemsthat can be easily swapped or removed for weight savings, such asthe wheels, electric AC, and a larger battery. With all the engine,suspension, and other work performed, this car is a pleasure todrive and will run circles around a RS. This 964 is truly one-of-a-kind and would be impossible toreplicate. Even if you could find a Rubystone sunroof delete carand all the incredibly rare parts, the cost of doing so would beastronomical.
