2007 Hummer H3 The Hummer H3 is an off-road vehicle that was produced from 2005 to2010 by General Motors. The smallest model of the Hummer lineup, itwas offered as a 5-door SUV or a 4-door pickup truck known as theH3T. Unlike the larger H1 and H2 models, the H3 was not developedby AM General. It was introduced for the 2006 model year, based ona modified GMT355 that underpinned the Chevrolet Colorado/GMCCanyon compact pickup trucks that were also built at GM'sShreveport Operations in Shreveport, Louisiana and the PortElizabeth plant in South Africa. For consignment, a smaller more manageable version of the Hummershowing as a Hummer H3 from 2007 with 28,824 title verified mileson the odometer. This is its second year of introduction, and showsnicely as a well cared for and maintained road or off road vehicle.It has like new tires and sports several convenience options suchas power steering, power windows, power locks, leather seating anda power sunroof. It also has some nifty front grille guard andtinted glass an aftermarket rear view cam has been installed to addto the long list of conveniences with all else being all original.A Jeep on steroids with the mystique of being a Hummer, (ya know,former military and takes no prisoners kinda vehicle!). ExteriorA nice coat of ceramic coated in 2023 Sonoma Jewel BurgundyMetallic bathes the exterior panels of this truck. All of the gapsare well minded and as to the look, it takes from the Jeep butmakes it look more like an armored 4x4 due to its smaller tintedwindows, squared off smaller fenders, and wide black bumpers withprotective black fender lowers and rocker. This truck has a blackroof rack and it goes nicely with the Sonoma Burgundy. Heavylooking doors and a high stance with its squared off wheel wellsallows this vehicle to go through water up to 27 inches deep at5mph. Black tubular chromed and step rubber coated runningboard/step ups are on either side and make entry just a bit easier.On the back is a large tailgate with more tinted glass and anexterior plastic body matching covered mounted spare. Another largeblack bumper frames the bottom and this vehicle has a hitch.18-inch GM special to Hummer wheels with chromed flat caps are allaround and these are covered in Bridgestone Dueler A/T rubber in265/65R18's blackwall format. InteriorWith its thick bulletproof look on the exterior, the interior takeson a softer look, made for the comfort one would expect on a highend Hummer. The door panels are black molded plastic with moldedarmrests, power window and door locks, and a power mirror toggle.Inside are the power seats where we note front high back bucketscovered in black leather for the bolsters and inserts with somewhite stitching and white piping for the inserts and bolster edges.The driver's seat shows some slight wear with nicely aged leatherfolding. Headrests have black and grey H3 embroidery in theircenters. In back is a full black leather bench with a center jumpseat that can double as an armrest and it utilizes the same patternas the front buckets. In the center of the buckets is a moldedconsole also in gray with a leather padded armrest. It has anarmrest/storage bin, cupholders and the shifter. This melts nicelyinto the center of the dash which sports an aluminum plate behindthe large round climate controls and digital radio above. Justabove this is a lineup of buttons which is your 4x4 control modecenter. The dash in front of the driver is under a rectangular hoodand has analog sweep gauges in the round with smaller fuel and tempgauges in the center. A digital readout panel is in the center. Thefactory steering wheel is fronting the dash. Charcoal graycarpeting covers all the floors even in the back seating area.Above a power sunroof can be noted. The cargo bay area is linedwith tough molded ribbed plastic and the 60/40 back seats can befolded down for more room for tactical gear. Access to the backstorage is through a "safe like" rear hinged door. DrivetrainUnder the vented hood sits a perfectly preserved Vortec 3.7 literI-5 cylinder engine putting out 272hp. It has EFI, and a 4L60E4-speed automatic transmission bolted to the back. Turning thetires are 4.10 geared axles for front and rear. Lots of plasticcoverings and all very clean in this engine bay. UndercarriageA peppering of surface rust is noted. The truck uses independenttorsion bars for the front suspension, and leaf springs for therear. Power disc brakes are on all 4 corners and the OEM singleexhaust is in charge of the exhale. All solid down below with lightsurface rust making an appearance on the untreated components. Drive-AbilityThis military grade truck fired right up and off to the test trackI went. It ran smoothly, had crisp shifting and easy steering. Allfunctions were working at the time of my test drive and with themany conveniences it did not seem like I was behind the wheel of abig 4x4. A neat little 4x4 that looks larger than life and exudes a high endbulletproof feel for the design, but is more at home on thesuburban roads. Nice exterior paint, very low miles for the age, avery slightly used interior, and light surface rust on theundercarriage.
