Beautifully Restored1939 FordStandard Coupe"The Ford standard coupe was produced from 1937 through 1940. The styling was influenced by Edsel Ford and borrowed many cues from the Lincoln Zephyr. One of the more noticeable Zephyr influences was the oval headlights that were incorporated into the front fenders. Other front-end features were V-shaped grille and vertical bars. The 221 cubic-inch eight-cylinder engine was carefully hidden under the sweeping bonnet. The 85 horsepower that was produced was sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. Please let them all load (there are over 120) to see the beautiful condition of this classic Ford. Professionally restored to like new condition and completed in 2001, this car is stunning! The current owner purchased this car in 1991 in original condition with the Flathead V-8 engine. The engine was removed and replaced with a completely rebuilt 1950 Ford Flathead with some added performance modifications and the 6 volt system was converted to 12 volts. Dual exhaust was added with some great sounding custom mufflers. The body is all steel and was taken down to bare metal and repainted base coat, clear coat Viper Red. All the exterior chrome has either been replaced or redone. The interior has been redone with custom seat covers, door panels headliner and trim, with the original seat covers still underneath. The undercarriage is original and is solid clean and dry. It was media blasted and sealed with a very light undercoating. This car has been driven very little since completion and has been kept in heated indoor storage at all times. It rides, handles,sounds and looks terrific and is sure to take home awards at any car show and has in the past. Best paint, best old Ford etc. We have a few receipts for the restoration, some spare parts and award trophies that will be included in the sale.Please remember that this car is 72 years years old and not perfect.
