Rare 1977 ?Plain Jane? Base Model El CaminoRare because:#1 Radio Delete Package. I purchased this El Camino from the original owner in 1982. The original owner was 62 years old when he purchased the car new in my hometown in Tennessee. He was in the Calvary in WWII and taught soldiers to shoot rifles, and as a result he couldn?t hear. Being close with his money he didn?t want to spend the extra $72 for a radio. He did want to be comfortable so he ordered the El Camino with air conditioning, tilt wheel steering, and automatic transmission. The original owner was a friend of mine, and I?ve known this car ever since he bought it. I?ve lived in many places and have taken it with me everywhere.#2 Single Headlights. Most 1977 El Camino?s had over/under headlights. Over/under headlights were only for the Classic and Super Sport models and did not apply to the base models.#3 Black Steering Wheel & Column. Most El Camino?s had color coordinated steering wheels with the interior of the vehicle. This one did not.#4 Left Hand Rear View Mirror. Most 1977 El Camino?s had driver side & passenger side rear view mirrors adjustable from the inside of the car. This one did not, it has the single manually adjusted driver side rear view mirror onlyThis El Camino is very solid. The rust you see in the pictures is surface rust and the only through rust is a place the size of a quarter under the grill chrome, and not on the body. This car has the original wheels and hubcaps. It did not have factory rally wheels. I have both sets of the original keys. The engine is a 305 with the TH350 automatic transmission and I believe a 3.08 differential. I had the car painted and the seat reupholstered in 1990, with the original green exterior and camel interior. I removed the door panels, cleaned the inside doors and sprayed POR 15 inside them. I started it two months ago, but I did not keep it running. The El Camino needs a battery, the windshield is cracked, and the brakes are down. I feel that the 1973 through 1977 El Camino?s will be a ?hot? item after the new GI Joe: Retaliation movie comes out next year. $1200.00 or best offer.Feel free to call me @ (865) 609-XXXX with any questions.
